Parents considering a residential defence-coaching batch usually have two separate worries bundled together: will the discipline be too harsh, and will the academics suffer without home supervision. In practice, the structure of the day is what solves both — a fixed wake time, physical training, class blocks and supervised self-study leave far less unsupervised time than a typical day at home, not more.
The adjustment period is real, though, and usually lasts two to three weeks. Homesickness peaks around day four to seven for most students and eases once the daily routine becomes automatic rather than something to consciously manage.
